Alim is a Senior Associate of Investing. He is based in Menlo Park, CA, and joined the team in 2017.
Alim supports investments with a focus on Industrial IoT, analytics, edge computing, cloud infrastructure, machine learning/AI, and cyber security.
Prior to joining GE Ventures, Alim worked in business development and partnerships at Instart Logic, a startup backed by a16z, KPCB, and Greylock Partners. Before Instart Logic, he was at Google, managing a $100 million book of business to develop strategies and generate revenue for Fortune 500 companies. Prior to his MBA, Alim was at Data Collective, an early stage VC firm focused on big data startups. He started his career at Ernst & Young in their Advisory Services practice.
Alim received his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was on the Director’s List, and an MS from Stanford in Management Science and Engineering. He graduated magna cum laude at USC with a bachelor’s degree in Business and Accounting.
Alim has a twin brother who is also a venture capitalist. Alim enjoys tennis, hiking, watching college football, and mentoring local, college-bound students. He has traveled to five continents: Africa, Australia, Europe, North America, and Asia.
